Freak Show

I went to see a freak show last night! It was super weird and super awesome. Since I grew up watching street performers all the time, seeing that show made me feel like I was back home again. My childhood was pretty cool. :)

The group is called HELLZAPOPPIN, and they tour around the country as a sideshow troupe. Their show has the typical stuff you'd expect, like fire eating and sword swallowing, but it also had some really bizarre stuff. A girl walked up a ladder with rungs made of sharp swords (blade-side up), she jumped on chunks of broken glass, one guy chewed up and SWALLOWED some chunks of glass, and he also shoved popcorn kernels up his nose and popped them out through his eye sockets.

The main star of the show is a man who goes by the name of "Zamora the Torture King". He's apparently been on TV a bunch of times for the crazy stuff he does. He laid on a bed of nails while four large men stood on top of him, he laid across some swords that were blade-side up while a cinder block was laid on top of him and broken with a hammer, and he did two especially weird things. The first involved him swallowing a piece of string, cutting a hole in his belly with a scalpel, and pulling the string out. The final thing he did was stick some metal skewers through his body in various places. Here's a photo of him doing it:

No piercings. He stuck those things right through his body. They had to be forced through his skin.
 What a show!

Formspring Answers 2/26

I think I'll have to start turning these into daily posts, since I've been getting so many questions. :)

Who is your favorite Doctor and least favorite Doctor?

I haven't gotten very far into the series yet. I only recently got into the Tennant episodes, so he and Eccleston are the only ones I've seen so far. I really like both of them, so they're about equal to me for now.

I'm somewhat indifferent to it at the moment. I enjoyed the books immensely when they first came out, but I was in middle school when the series began. I only read up to book 4, and I've never gotten around to the rest. I believe I've only seen the first 5 movies. I'll probably catch up on the rest of the books and movies eventually, but it isn't high on my list of priorities.

It's garbage. Terrible, undeveloped characters, no plot, no substance, no redeeming value whatsoever.

I'm a big fan of each of them! Games like those two that go for a more artistic approach in the storytelling and/or the visual style are usually the ones that appeal to me the most. I'm a very artsy person, after all. :) Can't wait for The Last Guardian!

I once dressed as a supervillain for a costume party, so I'll just copy and paste a little description I wrote up a long time ago. >:) I have a picture, too!

"My super villian persona is Azura, and her sidekick is Blue Booger. Azura's power/ability is to turn someone's nose blue when they least expect it, using her mighty blue marker, which is quite stinky and only SEMI-washable. How evil! Blue Booger's power is to sneeze nasty lizard snot at you when you get close to her. Beware of Azura and the Blue Booger! They mean business!"

I would LOVE to stream those games! I didn't realize anyone cared to watch that. Since I don't have a capture device for my consoles, I'll have to try emulating them on my PC. If they run okay, then I'll definitely stream them at some point!

One hundred billion boyfriends. ;D

You know it! ;)

Sonic the Hedgehog for Sega Genesis, when I was a wee young gal. Nevar forget!

I think it will eventually, but who knows when the heck it'll actually happen. Since the other Team Ico games are so well-loved, people would be furious if the game was cancelled. I'm sure they don't want to deal with that!

I would gorge myself on whatever food I happened to be craving the most, then I would set out to complete any life goals I could reasonably accomplish in such a short amount of time. Aw, who am I kidding, I'd probably just end up inviting all of my friends to an awesome "end of the world" party.

More Formspring Questions & Answers

Here's another batch! Keep 'em coming!

If you were to have a theme song, what would it be?

Hmmmm... Without spending a lot of time thinking about it, I'd have to say it's "Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight". That song describes me pretty well.

That's a tough one. I'm a collector, so I have tons of stuff taking up space, but it's all good stuff in good condition. I can't really think of anything I have that needs to be thrown away that I'm attached to.

Let's get the typical things out of the way... my family and friends! As for non-boring stuff, I'm thankful that I no longer have the severe back pain I once had, I'm thankful for living in a city filled with geeky people like me that I can relate with, I'm thankful for the current state of my life, and I'm especially thankful for all the kind words and support given to me by my fans.

Ewww, I don't want to think about that person! I was almost 16, though.

My favorite photo is THIS ONE! It's my iguana, Lantz, and it was taken by an ex-boyfriend.

Lots of Formspring questions!

I've had a lot of questions asked! Instead of doing lots of little posts, I'm compiling a bunch of answers into one big one. Here they are!

What's your favorite color

My favorite color is blue! I wear blue all the time, and I always pick blue things whenever something provides me with a choice of color.

have ever done voice work for radio or television? :D

I have not done any for TV or real radio, but I have voiced a few characters in Nerdy Show's monthly Dungeons & Doritos series. You can listen to that here:http://nerdyshow.com/dungeons-doritos/

Who are you in a relationship with?

A very charming fellow named Rob!

My favorite game is Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I never ever get tired of playing it.

That's a tough one for me to answer. I love so many movies, and I have different favorites when I'm in different moods, so I don't really have an "all time favorite". I guess for now I'll say I love Scott Pilgrim vs the World!

I think they would both fail equally.

I would make it a sidescroller, because I'm not a fan of the modern Sonic gameplay. I would give it a unique style to make it more interesting, since I feel that a lot of the more recent games have been bland and uninspired, despite using ridiculous gimmicks.

PSP for sale!

My friend asked me to sell his PSP bundle for him, so I figured I would mention it here in case anyone is interested. I put it on craigslist already, so I'll just copy and paste the description from that:

The bundle includes a PSP-1000 in excellent condition with a protector on the screen. It has the original box, a hard case, charger, headphones adapter, a 2GB memory stick, and two extra 3.6V batteries (3 total). It comes with a bunch of games and UMD movies.

The game list is:

Burnout Legends
Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII
Dissidia Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee
Lumines
Lumines II
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (not plus)
NBA Street Showdown
NFL Street 2: Unleashed
Pixel Junk Monsters Deluxe (brand new and sealed)
Ridge Racer

All of the games are complete with box and manual, and the UMDs are in great condition.

Movie list:

Batman Begins
The Cave
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Hellboy
Into the Blue
Kingdom of Heaven
Silent Hill
Sin City
Steamboy

All of the movies are complete with box, except for Silent Hill and Steamboy. Silent Hill is in a plain UMD box with no cover, and Steamboy is in a paper sleeve. All of the UMDs are in great condition.

Pics (click to enlarge):

I'm asking $150 lowered to $140 + $10 shipping for it, but I'm open to offers as well. If no one here is interested, then I'll put it on eBay and probably ask for more.

Any takers? If you want it, please leave a comment and I'll contact you from there!

Formspring!

I decided to jump on the Formspring bandwagon, so I have one now. Ask me anything! I embedded a widget on the right, so you can either ask me questions through that, or just click through directly to the site. You can choose to enter your name or remain anonymous, so there's no reason to be shy. I'll post my answers to the questions on my blog and on Facebook.

Ask away! :)

Sellin' stuff

Since I've had lots of expenses lately from moving and from setting up my online store, and because I have way too much stuff, I'm going to start selling some things on ebay. As soon as I put my listings up, I'll post them here in case anyone is interested. It will mainly be games and DVDs and stuff like that, maybe even a few t-shirts.

My store will be open very soon! There isn't much work left to do on it. I mainly just need to get a few more products ready.

My parents have been posting a bunch of baby photos of me on Facebook lately. Here's a couple of them:

Daddy and I

Valentine's Day cards!

I posted this on Facebook, but I figured I'd post here as well for those who may not be Facebook users.

I'm sending out Valentine's day cards! They're for everyone who has donated at least $5 at any point. I'd love to send them out on more of a mass scale, but unfortunately, that would cost me a ton of money that I don't have.

If your mailing address on Paypal has changed since you sent the donation, please let me know! Send me a private message on Youtube with your full name and address so I can mail your card to the correct location.

If you don't want me to send a card for whatever reason, just let me know.

Store progress....

Man, getting my online store up and ready sure is taking a long time. I've had to start over on the site building a few times now, so that definitely slowed me down a lot. I'm hoping to have it ready pretty soon, though. I'm really excited about it.

I'm really enjoying Fullmetal Alchemist so far. From what I've heard from everyone, Brotherhood is even better, so I'm definitely looking forward to watching that next. Doctor Who has been pretty entertaining so far as well, but I've only watched 3 episodes.

SO HUNGRY!

Triforce Mike's Memorial

The comic shop that Triforce Mike used to work at hosted a beautiful memorial party last night to celebrate his life. Hundreds of people showed up, and many of them got on the open mic to tell their own personal stories about Mike and the impact he had on their lives. It was an amazing event, and it was wonderful to see just how many people showed up to honor him. He touched so many people's lives (and balls).

The night before, Nerdy Show recorded a memorial episode for him. It was the largest group to ever get together for one of the recordings. It was a lot of fun, but also very emotional and very raw. I definitely teared up many times during the recording. You can listen to it here, if you're interested: Nerdy Show's Triforce Mike tribute
Here's a photo of us before we started recording and getting all teary-eyed:

In other news, I moved out of my old place, finally. It took two days to get all of my stuff moved out. I have a ridiculous amount of stuff, and that needs to change. I'm going to be selling some of it off online as a fundraiser for my recent moving expenses and such.

I finished watching Arrested Development, and I loved it. I can't wait for the movie and the series reboot to come out. Now that I'm done with that, I decided to move on to Doctor Who. I have a TON to catch up on, but I think I'll enjoy it (since so many of my friends do). It's gonna take a few months to get through it all, though. I'm also watching Full Metal Alchemist now. I'm gonna watch both of the FMA series.
