Goodbye 2011!

Well, 2011 has been a very interesting year for me! A whole lotta new stuff happened; New people and friends, new events, new decisions, new direction. It was certainly a year unlike any other thus far. It had its ups and downs, but for the most part, it was a good year. I'm hoping that next year will bring about some more big changes, and that my life will develop the way I want it to go!

I haven't posted in a while (sorry about that), so I'll just recap a few things really quick:

I've been working extensively on getting my online store set up, which is the main reason why I've kind of disappeared for a while. I have several products made and ready to go, and the main thing left to do is finish getting my store website up and running! That will be happening very soon.

Christmas was awesome! I spent it with my family, and I got some pretty sweet loot. Mainly gift cards, games, clothes, and various items I'd been wanting. We recorded a crazy Christmas special with Nerdy Show, and you can listen to that here. If you've never listened to Nerdy Show before, this is a very entertaining way to start!

I saw The Adventures of Tintin a few days ago, and it was awesome! I liked the cartoon as a kid, so this movie was especially enjoyable. The animation is amazing. Go see it!

I'll make a more detailed post about this soon, but I'll be going to MAGFest!

Lately I've been working on getting as many of the Steam holiday achievements as possible. I've been getting a whole lot of coal, but that's okay. It's been fun.

I guess that's a good enough recap for now. I'll post other stuff if it crosses my mind.

I'm spending New Year's Eve with some friends. It should be a fun evening. What are you all doing? Or if you read this later, what did you do?

Tell me about what you're looking forward to in the coming year!

Want an iPad from me?!

I already posted this on Facebook, but I'll mention it here as well for those who don't use Facebook.

So, any of you want a free iPad from me?! Help me win one so I can give it to one of you! My company is doing a little contest for us Play N Trade employees, where the person who gets the most referrals to this page will win an iPad! If I win the iPad, I'm gonna give it away in a little contest for you awesome people!

Here's what you do: first, click the image at the bottom of this post. Then, click either the "Enter to Win" link at the top, or the "Fill out your wishlist today!" link at the bottom. Complete the form and submit it, and that's it! You'll be entered to win a bunch of cool stuff from Play N Trade, plus the iPad from me if I win!

Make it happen, guys! This is totally for you!

Black Friday ended up being not so bad at all. It sucked getting there so early, especially since I barely got any sleep, but the work shift wasn't tedious or anything. It was pretty busy, but not even close to as busy as last year. I had an energy drink to help me get through the day, and I'm feeling pretty crappy now. Oh well!

Black Friday, ugh

Well, it's currently past 12 AM, the morning of Black Friday. I really need to be asleep right now, since I have to be at work at 7:30 AM, but I'm not tired at all. Really dreading the day. :\

I just need to keep reminding myself that this will be the last time I'll ever work Black Friday at a retail store!

I've still been working on getting my online store set up, and getting products made for it. It will be ready soon!

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. I had two dinners, one with family and one with friends, and they were both delicious.

Daily Skyrim Party! New poll

Lately, I've been going to my friend's house almost every day for Skyrim parties. Though I'm the only one here not actually playing the game (I'm usually playing League of Legends or working on stuff instead), everyone else has been. It's like a lan party for a single player game, which is a pretty silly concept, but it's been a lot of fun. We made delicious snacks last night, so it finally felt like a real party!

I made my awesome spam musubi, which is nori, rice, and a slice of turkey spam in the middle with teriyaki sauce and furikake seasoning on it. It's super delicious!

Sooooo good.
So, I decided to get rid of my chat room, since no one ever used it. If there's ever demand for another one in the future, I may make a new one. For now, though, I decided to replace that space with a little list of the games I'm currently playing. I'll continue to update and change that list as I finish and start new games.

I have a new poll, and it's a very important one for me. Since I'm currently in the process of creating an online store, I want to know what types of products you folks would be most interested in buying. I plan to make everything that's in the poll list, but it would be very helpful to know what appeals to you the most. I plan to have my store up and running very soon, and I'm continually working on products for it. My store will have an emphasis on gaming-related items and apparel, but I'll be making other types of things as well. Please leave a comment if there's anything I didn't mention in the poll that you'd like to see for sale!

Super late PC specs!

I know you guys have been asking me about my PC specs for like a month now. Sorry for the delay! I kept forgetting because I'm derpy. These are my parts, complete with handy dandy links:

Case: Antec 300 Illusion
Motherboard: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
Processor: i5-2500k
Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
Video card: GeForce GTX 570 Classified
Power supply: OCZ 750W
HDD #1 (SSD): Crucial M4 128GB
HDD#2: Hitachi Deskstar 2TB

I absolutely love my computer. So far, I haven't had a single issue with it. Getting it all together was a breeze, and it runs beautifully. Since I have Windows on my solid state drive, it boots up and shuts down in seconds! I also install my games and most used programs on that drive, so they run with the shortest load times possible. All games so far have been running effortlessly at max settings. Okay, I'll stop bragging now.

I plan to hold a little contest very soon. Keep an eye out for that!

JetBlue News

For those of you who keep up with my Facebook posts, I mentioned that my JetBlue interview had gone very well. It was quite a fun experience (despite having to fly all the way to New York), and the recruiters were all very nice. I felt confident that I did a great job and gave it my all. However, even though I know I did my best, I still didn't allow myself to get my hopes up too much for the job, in order to protect myself from being hurt if it didn't work out. That ended up being for the best, because I just got the email yesterday that I was not chosen. The email basically said "You are super awesome and super qualified, but we picked someone else". It kinda made it seem like I'm too good for them or something, haha. I was excited about the idea of being a flight attendant, but I'm really not upset or anything. My mom seems to be way more upset than I am! I only feel sad for the JetBlue passengers who won't get to experience the joy of having me serve them snacks and drinks and such. It's truly a tragedy! :P

Since that job fell through, I plan to put my full effort into starting an online store. I plan to sell charms, t-shirts, art prints, and other fun stuff, both video game-related and not. If there's anything you guys would like to see on a charm or shirt or poster, feel free to mention it and I might make it!

To anyone who watches my Steam activity, you probably think I've been playing tons of Skyrim. Well, that's been my boyfriend playing it, not me. He doesn't have a Steam account, so I bought the game on my account for him to play it. I'll probably play it eventually after he's all done with it. I still need to finish Arkham Asylum, myself.

I went to a Random Encounter and Protomen show last night. It was a blast, as usual. Tons of my friends were there, and it was awesome hanging with them all. Random Encounter keeps getting better every time I see them, and this was probably my favorite Protomen performance I've seen yet. Since the crowds for the Protomen always pump their fists throughout the entire show, I decided to bring my boxing nun puppet to poke fun at their fist pumping. Here's a photo of me with her:

Flight Attendant Interview!

Man, work is so dead right now that I'm updating my blog to pass the time. Speaking of which, here's my current work situation:

I have a face-to-face interview with JetBlue on November 3rd! I have to fly all the way to New York for it (on my own dime), so I really hope I get the job! (Also, I'm missing a concert I really wanted to go to because of it! :<) Since I'll have to travel for the interview, I decided to quit my new job that I just got. I only trained for two days, and I didn't want to waste their time and money by continuing training there when I'll probably be getting a new job soon. They said I can come back if I want to in the future, though, so that's awesome. For the time being, I'm going to continue working at Play N Trade until I get the flight attendant job. If I get it, I'll be starting in January!

I finally got to play a little bit of Arkham Asylum on my PC. It looks gorgeous! I am in love with that machine.

I went to a ska show last night, and I got knocked down flat on my butt since I was dancing right next to the mosh pit. It was pretty funny.

WHAAAT?!

So, something pretty ridiculous happened. You know how I just got a new job? Yeah, my first day of training was on Thursday. Well, guess what? The SAME DAY, I got an email from JetBlue THREE MONTHS after I applied to them! I qualified for a phone interview for the flight attendant job! Man, what timing. I just finished my automated phone interview a few minutes ago, so I've got my fingers crossed for that. If I get the flight attendant job, it's going to pay me more than my new job will, and for waaaay less hours worked, too! Plus, I'll get to travel all around for free and stuff! Here's hoping.

I went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios for the first time ever. It was pretty fun! I'm normally quite sick of Universal, but the way the park was all decorated made it cooler than it usually is. The lines for the haunted houses were way too long, though.

I've barely had any time to play with my new PC! *sob*

It's my mom's birthday! Happy birthday, Mama! I love youuuu!

PC IS READY! + other important news

I'm posting from my new PC! Yep, after close to a year of planning to build one, it's finally done. I'm super excited to start playing a bunch of games on it. I'll be doing lots of streaming and posting a ton of videos from now on, so be prepared for that! However, something did just happen that will cut back on my computer time.

....I got a new job! It's my first full time job ever, so I'm not quite sure what to think of it yet. It seems like it will be something I'll really enjoy, though (at least, I hope). I'm going in for training tomorrow, so I guess I'll find out then if I like it or not! I'll keep you folks posted. I'm a little sad to leave my old job, just because I've been there for so long, but it's time for something new.

The first game I plan to play is Arkham Asylum, since I've never played it, and I want to be ready for Arkham City. My graphics card came with a free copy of Arkham City, which is pretty awesome.

What games have you guys been playing?

PC is almost ready!

I have almost all of my PC parts purchased! The only thing that's left is the video card. I'm having the darndest time trying to pick between the GTX 560 Ti and the GTX 570. I'll probably make my decision within the next day or two. PC should be up and ready in about a week! Man, I can't believe I actually convinced myself to finally plop down all that money on PC parts. I'm extremely frugal, and I always save up my money like crazy, so this was painful for me. It needed to be done, though!

Kai is such a slob.
Hey, I need a new poll. Okay, now I have one. Also, you guys should join my chat.

Zombietoberfest and gaming PC!

Last night was the awesome Zombietoberfest! It was a lot of fun, and this year it was bigger than ever. The event started in 2009, and it's been really cool to see it growing a bit each year since. I just wore my L4D shirt again, and I brought Kai with me like I did last year. The best part, of course, was seeing Random Encounter perform. Those guys are getting really good. I'll probably upload some photos from the event if some good ones pop up.

I'm FINALLY building my gaming PC! I have almost everything I need for it, and I just need to order a couple more parts. So excited! I'll start doing a whole bunch of streaming and youtube videos and such after I have it.

I'm planning on moving as soon as I can, because I really wanna have my own place. I don't wanna deal with other people's messes anymore! :<

To help offset the big expenses of PC parts and moving costs, I'm going to be selling some stuff I have as a fundraiser. I dunno if it'll be anything you folks will be interested in, but I'll link to the auctions as soon as they're listed. I'll also have some super special, super limited Kilplix-related items! Keep your eye out for those.

Fun stuff

Thank you so much to all of you for the birthday wishes! It was a super awesome birthday weekend. I had a party the night before, and like I said, I ended up cooking a ton of food. A lot of people showed up, so that food was allllll gone by the end of the night! I had a great time. The actual day of my birthday, I went to a nice sushi place I hadn't gone to before, and it was super yummy. My parents gave me a bunch of stuff, including a new PS3 controller! I really needed a second one, and I've been salivating over the blue one for like two years now. It's mine at last!

AFO (Anime Festival Orlando) is happening right now. Though I haven't been able to attend the actual convention because of work, I did go to the AFO pool party last night. It was a blast, and I plan to go again tonight. I really wish I could be at the convention today, because Jason David Frank is there! For those who don't know, he is the original Green/White Power Ranger, and I love him. He's pretty much the only reason why I like to go to that convention (besides the pool party). I saw him two years in a row, and he remembered me the second year! Here are a couple photos I took with him from the first year:

Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll see him wandering around tonight while I'm at the pool party!

I made pumpkin pancakes today, and they were delicious.

I'm still around!

There's been so much stuff going on that I'll just briefly mention what I can remember:

From July 15-17, I was at Nerdapalooza. It's an annual nerd music festival in Orlando, and it was pretty awesome. I volunteered a bit, and I was there with both Nerdy Show AND Play N Trade, so I got to go for free. Very fun weekend! We did a post-Nerdapalooza episode on Nerdy Show that you can listen  to if you're curious about what it was like:
By far, my favorite performance at Nerdapalooza was Koo Koo Kanga Roo. They were INCREDIBLE. Basically, all of their songs have little kid lyrics, and yet every adult in the audience can't help but dance their butt off! They even invite people to come on the stage and dance. The energy was amazing, and I've never seen a show quite like it. I definitely recommend all of you check them out. They've been touring around the US, so maybe some of you will have a chance to see them at some point! Here's their site, please check it out and listen to their stuff!

Saw Captain America on opening night. I LOVED it. Chris Evans was the perfect choice for Cap, and the movie was just awesome. Definitely one of the best Marvel movies thus far.

I saw Tekken: Blood Vengeance on Tuesday. If you aren't familiar with it, that's the CG Tekken movie, not the live action one. It actually wasn't too bad, aside from the dub. A lot of the character voices didn't match well at all! The dialogue was pretty hokey at times, too. I think the movie would probably be a lot more enjoyable in Japanese. The CG was lovely, though, and the action was really good. I dunno if non-Tekken fans would care much about it, though.

I finally got on my friend's awesome T-Mobile employee plan, so I have joined the ranks of smartphone users! If anyone wants to play Words With Friends, my username is SillyJonna.

My parents are in town now, and I'm enjoying their visit so far. I was saving a couple of gifts for them, and I finally was able to give them to them last night. I gave my dad Infamous 2, and for my mom and grandma, I made a digital painting that I printed on a canvas. Here it is:
It's baby me, my mom, and my grandma. They seemed to really like it, so I'm happy.

My parents and I went to one of my favorite Disney restaurants last night for my early birthday dinner: Ohana. I went there during my last Disney visit, if you'll recall, and I enjoyed it so much that I had to go back! We had a great window view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks while we were eating. It was wonderful! I had such a good time that I didn't even care when one of the servers accidentally spilled some sauce all over me. Though, after we were done stuffing our faces, they brought out my birthday cupcake. I was like "NO WAY. Not gonna happen". I took it home with me. It's now 11 AM the next day, and I'm STILL full from dinner last night.

We're going to Hooters tonight, so I'm excited about that. I always eat awesome stuff when my parents are in town.

I'm having a birthday party Saturday night, and I plan to cook a bunch of food for it. My actual birthday is Sunday, the 31st.

Q&A

HAY! So, I enjoyed listening to Tate and Austin's new Q&A video so much that I've decided I feel like doing my own. If you have any questions you'd like answered, feel free to leave them either in a comment on here, on my Facebook page, or as a youtube message. Once I get a substantial number of 'em, I'll make a video.

If you haven't seen this on my Facebook page already, here's a photo of Kai's new cage:
It's up on its side, it's supposed to lay down. Unfortunately, I won't be able to set it up until I eventually move to a new place, so poor little Kai will have to wait a while for his new home. :<

Blood, Parties, and Sonic Stream

Busy bussyyyyy! So much has been going on.

The manager at my job just moved away a few days ago. He's been there since the store opened, like I have, so he's going to be sorely missed. He pretty much held the store together, so I fear for the future of my store with him out of the picture. Some things have already gone a bit wrong, so it's very troubling. I'm pretty much ready to jump ship before things get worse. I hope I get that flight attendant job soon.

On Thursday, we had a goodbye dinner for my manager, and then I went to a pool party at a friend's house. We watched a couple of B-movies, Wild Zero and Samurai Cop. Samurai Cop is my favorite B-movie ever, so I was very happy to share it with a group of friends. It's so bad (bad in a bad way AND a good way at the same time!).

On Friday, I went to see Evil Dead the Musical. It was sooooo amazing! It was hilarious, and the best part is that my friends and I were sitting in the splatter zone. You know what that means?! We got soaked in blood. I even bought a white dress before the show just so it could get all bloody.

I wish you could see my legs in the photo. They had blood alllll over them.
After the show, we decided to go downtown with blood all over us. People were looking at us like we were crazy the whole night, so it was pretty awesome. We went to 80s night again, and somehow, dancing to 80s music with blood all over you makes it so much more fun.

I went to another party on Saturday evening, and it was a little lame. It was mainly just people playing Rock Band the whole time, but at least one of my friends made some awesome brownies that he brought. I had also been invited to a Pokemon party that night, so I kind of wish I had gone to that one instead. Oh well.

So, a very special anniversary just happened on the 23rd! Do you know which one it was? You better! Say it with me, now! SONIC THE HEDGEHOG'S 20TH BIRTHDAY! That fat little blue guy has been around for TWENTY YEARS, and though he'll probably never return to his former glory, at least those exceptional Genesis/Mega Drive games can be honored until the end of time. To celebrate this joyous occasion, I'll be doing a stream of Sonic 1 very soon. I'm not sure exactly when, but I'll keep you posted! Just so you know, it isn't going to be a typical play-through of the game. ;D

New job soon...?

Lately, I've been all into the idea of becoming a flight attendant. I've been needing a new job, and a girl that I know who has been a flight attendant for a few years told me about her job. After looking into it, I decided that it's a perfect job for me. I've always loved flying, and I've been really itching to travel more for a while now. Well, yesterday, I was informed by that girl that they would be hiring today!

I filled out a job profile on their website and uploaded my resume and all that jazz. Today, just as she said, a job opening appeared on the site! I submitted my application right away, and now it's time to wait. I'm really hoping for the best. However, if I don't get it, I'll just apply again next time. I think I'm super qualified for this job, though, with all my customer service and child care experience.

Saw my parents last night, we had a yummy meal at Pei Wei. Afterwards, I went to a show, and it was really fun. I actually brought my dad with me, and I also brought my friend Noah. There were four bands, one of them of course being my friend's band, Random Encounter. The others were The Amazing BrandO (who you're probably familiar with), Zombies Organize, and last, but not least, Captain Dan & The Scurvy Crew. Captain Dan was absolutely hilarious! It's a pirate rap group. What more do I need to say? You should check them out, you won't be disappointed.

So I stole a couple of ride photos today from Disney's photo site. I had been putting it off since my last trip there, but I decided to finally do it today since they'll be deleted from the site soon.

Zzzzzzzzzzzz
Those girls hated us.
Test Track is currently one of the only rides I can steal photos from.

Since my birthday is in about a month and a half, my mom is already asking me to make a birthday list. I know my parents read my blog, so I'm making a list on here so you can find it easily, Mama! Since I have no idea of what I want really badly (besides expensive things that are too much for anyone to buy), I'm just thinking of random things I've been wanting. It's still a work in progress.

Awesome movie ticket deal

Hey guys, I just wanted to share this awesome deal for movie tickets from LivingSocial.com:

For $9, you get two tickets from Fandango.com. That's $4.50 a ticket! It's hard to find movies that cheap nowadays, and you can even use this for opening nights and such. I don't think you can use them for 3D movies or IMAX movies, but 3D movies are nonsense anyway.

This deal probably only works for Americans and Canadians, but I'm not sure exactly. I just wanted to pass the word along, since finding bargains is a hobby of mine (as you all know).

I hope you guys enjoyed my Disney video spam. That's pretty much it for my Disney videos from my last trip, but I'll try to have some other things uploaded soon!

Out of curiosity, what types of videos are you interested in seeing? I'm sure a lot of you want gaming videos, but I don't really have the means for that sort of thing right now, since I can't record any graphically-intensive stuff with my laptop, and I don't have a capture device for my consoles. However, I can record old games just fine, so that's one option I guess. I dunno, tell me whatcha want!

The most wonderful time of the year (for gamers)

Well, it's that time again! E3 is here! As you probably know, several of the big press conferences happened today. Honestly, there wasn't a whole lot announced that I care much about. Pretty much nothing in the Microsoft conference interested me, though the Kinect stuff was fun to watch because of how terrible it was. I hear the new Tomb Raider looks awesome, but I missed that trailer since I tuned in too late. I'll have to watch it later.

Ubisoft's conference was mostly crap, EA's didn't have much I cared about, and Sony's was full of a lot of boringness, aside from Uncharted 3 and Vita. I must say that Vita is looking quite cool. It definitely isn't something I care to buy at launch, but I'd like to own one eventually. It's certainly seems to have MUCH more potential than the PSP ever had. I saw a few quick shots of a new Vanillaware game on Vita. They made Odin Sphere and Muramasa, and I'm in love with the style of those games, so I'm quite happy to see a new game by them in the works.

Well, I guess we shall see what goodies (and fails) Nintendo will have for us tomorrow! Let's see, what else have I been up to lately?

Oh yeah, I went to a bar/venue with some friends on Friday for 80's night. I had a great time dancing to all those 80's hits! I didn't drink though, just danced. I did leave to get two vegan hot dogs at one point, because they're YUM SO GOOD. I don't go out and do stuff like that very often, so it was fun to do something different for a change. My friends kept begging me to go, and I finally caved. I'm glad I went!

Some of my fellow Nerdy Show members have their own Dungeons & Dragons campaign they've been doing for a while, and it's called Dungeons & Doritos. They had me do some voice acting for their most recent episode, so you can listen to that here if you're interested. My parts start at about 84 minutes in. I do a couple different characters.

Since a few of our Nerdy Show guys are over in LA for E3 right now, we're recording short podcasts with them each night to get a little recap of their day and to discuss the various E3 shenanigans. The one from tonight should be up early tomorrow, so head on over to the Nerdy Show site if you want to check those out:

So, I've been thinking about dying my hair black again. I'm not sure if I want to do it or not, since my hair has finally mostly returned to it's natural color from before I dyed it the first time. I liked having black hair, though, since it makes for a nice contrast with blue eyes. It also makes me look more like my mom, because her hair is very dark. The good thing about the dye I use is that it isn't permanent, so I have black hair for several months before it starts slowly fading back to my natural color. It isn't something I'll be stuck with for many years until my hair grows all the way back out. You guys have seen enough recent photos/videos of me with my natural hair color, but here are a couple of photos and a video of me with black hair. They're like the only ones I could find. (click for larger images)

So, after seeing the photos/videos and comparing, tell me: Should I dye it black again? I'm making a poll for it, so feel free to vote there, and leave a comment about it if you so desire!

Have a lovely night, you lovely people.

Amazing interviews

Voice-Over Voice Actor: What It's Like Behind the MicSo we recorded a couple of super amazing interviews last night for Nerdy Show. The first one was with Yuri Lowenthal, who is primarily a voice actor for dubbed anime . He's also done a bunch of stuff for other cartoons and video games, one of his most well-known gaming roles being the Prince of Persia in The Sands of Time and The Two Thrones. He even recorded a little bump for our online radio station, 8bitfm, and he used the voice of the prince. It was so cool! Here's a list of his work, and you'll probably spot some characters you recognize. He was such a nice guy! Very down to earth and fun to talk to. He and his wife actually wrote a book about voice acting, and it's supposed to be one of the best ones out there. I've dreamed of being a voice-over artist
for many years, so I decided to promptly order the book when I got home!

The second interview was one I was very, VERY excited for. It was with none other than the legendary... Rob Paulsen! If you aren't familiar with him by name, let me just list off a few of his characters: Yakko Warner (Animaniacs), Pinky (Pinky and the Brain), Raphael (TMNT), Mighty Max (Mighty Max), Antoine D'Coolette (Sonic the Hedgehog), Carl Wheezer (Jimmy Neutron), Arthur (The Tick), and like a million others. He's such an awesome guy! Super nice, very very down to earth, so humble, spoke so highly of his colleagues, thanked us repeatedly for praising him, and he was an absolute joy to have on the show. I have been a huge fan of him for my entire life, so being able to speak to him was incredible. He seems to really love his fans.

Sometime soon, we'll be conducting an interview with Steve Blum! Surely you know who he is, but if not, he did the dubbed voice for Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bebop), Mugen (Samurai Champloo), the voice of TOM from Toonami, and tons and tons of others. I'm looking forward to that one! Rob Paulsen said some very nice things about him.

I'll let you guys know when the voice acting episodes are up!

I need a new poll. Any ideas?

Disneeeeyyyy

Wow, I've spent a lot of time at Disney lately! I was there for 5 days in a row, then went home for a couple days, then went back yesterday afternoon and came home this morning. I was there with Mike and Sarah and their friend Ben, and I had a blast! I wanted to make a video montage of everything, but there's some retarded problem with youtube right now that doesn't allow me to upload edited videos. For now, I can only upload the raw files. I'm going to upload a clip every day or two for the next several days. As of now, I uploaded two already.

We went to all of the parks several times each. I did a couple things I had never done before, including Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom (which was very fun, wish I hadn't wimped out in the past) and the "Lights, Motors, Action!" stunt show at Hollywood Studios, which was quite cool. Oh, I also got to see the closing show at Hollywood Studios, Fantasmic! I loved it.

Oh yeah, there's one other new thing I did. Star Tours 2! It just had its grand opening on Friday, and we actually got to ride it a couple days before it opened! They were doing unannounced sneak previews of the ride, and we just happened to be walking by the ride right as they opened it up for one of those. Sarah and I had just bought some Mickey ice cream bars, and we had to swallow them down super quickly to catch up with the boys, who ran into the line screaming when they noticed it was open. They do a special thing on the ride where they take a photo of someone in the group, and then that photo is shown on the screen at one point, revealing that the person is in fact a rebel spy! When we rode it again last night, I got chosen to be the spy! The people in our group were getting really into it, so it was awesome.

Since Star Tours 2 had it's grand opening, they had a Star Wars weekend at the park. It was like a sci-fi convention taking place at the park! There were people in Star Wars costumes, tons of people in Star Wars shirts, and they even had some stars from the movies and shows there. In fact, Anthony Daniels (the actor who plays C-3PO) was there, and we got to see him when we were coming in! I took a quick video of him, and I'll upload it in a few days.

In addition to being chosen as the spy, I was also chosen for something else. In the Laugh Floor attraction at Magic Kingdom, guests are invited to text in jokes, which will be possibly used in the show. They ended up using mine! I recorded that, so I'll upload that clip in a few days as well. A Disney employee tried to make me put my camera away right as they were saying my joke! Graaah.

Last night, I ate at one of the most amazing Disney restaurants: Ohana. It's an all-you-can-eat Polynesian place, and they bring you different kinds of meat on skewers, which they then remove from the skewers and put it on your plate. Oh man, and they had some delicious bread pudding as well. It was to die for. I got so full that I was rolling around the parks for the rest of the night.

Now it's time for photo spam! I have some other photos that I'll upload later, but here are most of them. I'll keep the thumbnails small so this post isn't enormous, so just click on them to see the full size.

Nonstop action!

Wow, I've been ridiculously busy lately! Let's see if I can remember most of it (while keeping it short):

I finished Portal 2, both single player and co-op. Such an awesome game! I really loved the story, and co-op was super fun as well. I played through it with Erik, and I plan to play through it again later on with my dad.

Two weekends ago, both my parents and Erik came to visit. It was nice spending time with all of them. I got my mom and grandma roses for Mother's Day, and I also gave my dad Portal 2 to make up for him not getting a Christmas gift (and because I knew he was really excited about the game). Over that weekend, we recorded a Nerdy Show episode about Portal 2 and Chrono Trigger, and I was actually quite talkative for a change. Give it a listen here if interested! Erik had to go home early because of car trouble, so that was pretty lame.

Man, Saturday was ridiculously busy. There was an event going on at the LAN center that I didn't get to check out at all, there was a "British Invasion" event going on in town that I wanted to check out but couldn't, my friend had a birthday party that I didn't get to attend, and there was an art show at my store. I entered a piece into the art contest at the show, and I won, but it wasn't much of an achievement, since only one other person entered. :P My prize was an art print from one of the artists, and $30 store credit for my store. I know you've all seen this already, but I touched it up a little bit to make a print:
I actually made a few extra prints for the heck of it. They're 11''x17'', so if anyone's interested in buying one, lemme know! They're cheap.

I have a couple of bargains to report. One of them is Mortal Kombat for PS3. I got a super deal on it! I was planning to get it from Toys R Us when they had the game for $30, but they were all sold out when I went to get it. I tried to get Best Buy to match their sale, but they'd only match it down to $40. The thing is, they had one last copy with the limited edition classic Sub-Zero costume DLC inside. I decided to buy the game, and then I sold the DLC card on ebay for over 20 bucks! The game ended up being less than $20 for me, so I'm quite pleased.

The other bargain is a futon I got on craigslist. It was originally $400, and the person sold it to me for $75! I moved my entire room around to fit it in there, and I'm super happy with the layout now. I feel a lot happier in my room! Having a couch is awesome.

I'm currently in the Disney area! I just met up with my friends today, and we're in a resort now. We're going to spend the next several days having an awesome time in the parks. I got the whole week off from work, so I'm pretty much just going to take a break from life. I'll try to record some fun videos while I'm there.

More of you need to eat sushi. New poll time!

That's all for now! Have a lovely week, folks!

Spiffy Saturday

Man, I wanted to update the day after the Anamanaguchi show, but I was holding out because I've been wanting to share some photos from that night. I still haven't been given the photos, though, so that shall have to wait.

The show was a blast! I was right in front of the stage the entire night, so that made it all even more awesome. I danced the whole time. My friend's band, Random Encounter, improved tremendously since the last time I saw them perform! They opened with the song Threshold from the Scott Pilgrim movie, so I was tickled pink by that. I bought their CD that I didn't have yet, to give 'em some support.

Following them, Anamanaguchi was better than I could have possibly expected! Since they use chiptune sounds in their music, I didn't quite know what to expect from them live. However, it worked well. They just play the prerecorded chiptune audio while playing actual instruments at the same time. They were great! Since the crowd was screaming for it, they ended the show with a Scott Pilgrim song (this one, to be exact). I was so happy that they played one.

Afterwards, one of my Nerdy Show co-hosts and I got photos with three of the four band members. To specify, they were three individual photos, with one band member in each photo. We tried to get all four, but the last guy vanished before we could track him down. He was a hipster, so you never know what to expect from those types. Once someone finally sends me those photos, I'll slap 'em up on my blog. It was an awesome, awesome night, and I definitely want to see Anamanaguchi again the next time they're in the area.

I went to yard sales today! I bought an MC Hammer CD (Too Legit To Quit) and... a broken Xbox 360, since it was only 25 bucks! It came with the cables, two controllers, a 20GB HDD, and two rechargeable battery packs with a charging dock.  It has the red lights of death, but a friend of mine is going to repair it for me. However, since it's one of the models that doesn't have HDMI output, I don't care to keep it. I'm just gonna resell it and keep one of the controllers, since I'm possibly going to buy a slim 360 in the future. I already have a 250gb HDD, so I don't need that 20GB one.

I almost beat Portal 2 single player! I know, I'm slow. I'll definitely have it done tomorrow.

I didn't mention it in my last entry, but over Easter weekend, I saw my cousin who lives in Hawaii, who I hadn't seen in about 16 years. I hardly remembered what he was even like, seeing as I was quite little last time we met. It was very cool getting reaquainted with him, as well as meeting his wife and baby (who turned 1 on Easter). We talked about video games a bit, and he apparently still plays the original Starcraft! I'll have to play it with him sometime.

Here's grandma and I from that weekend. I dunno why she always makes such weird faces in photos. :P

Bargains + Show

I have a couple new bargains to report!

One of them is from yesterday. A friend of mine alerted me to the fact that Best Buy's website had Dragon Quest IX on sale for 7 bucks! I promptly ordered it, and then about 5 minutes later, it was sold out. Thank you again for letting me know, Mike, because I woulda missed it otherwise!

The other bargain is......Portal 2! First, I preordered it from Amazon, so they gave me $20 in credit. It was $55 for the PS3 version. After I got the game, I took out the code for the free PC copy and used it, and then I listed the PS3 copy on craigslist for $40. I finally got a buyer today, so...BAM! Portal 2 for $15, plus $20 in Amazon credit for me! I love getting games for dirt cheap, though in this case it was pretty much free.

I'm going to see Anamanaguchi perform tonight! If you aren't familiar with them, they're a chiptune band. They did the soundtrack for the Scott Pilgrim game, and that's how I became familiar with them. Their other stuff is really good as well. My friend's band, Random Encounter, is going to be opening, so it'll be really cool to see them perform, too. I'm super excited about the show! I've got mah Scott Pilgrim shirt on and I'm ready to rock out!

Awesome luck

So, something really cool happened today! Well, it started last night. I was at the LAN center, and I noticed there were a bunch of half dollar coins in the register. I decided to buy a few dollars worth of 'em (by exchanging them with $1 bills), so I can use them to annoy cashiers when I buy stuff with them. I picked out the oldest ones in there just for the heck of it. Now, today, I was spending time with my uncle who's visiting, and  I noticed he had a bag of coins and jewelry and such. He told me he planned to take those to a shop to sell them, and I figured I'd mention the half dollars I got the night before. He's really knowledgeable about coins and such, and he told me to check the dates on them. It turns out that my two oldest coins were made of silver! I ended up bringing them in to that shop my uncle brought us to, and I got 20 bucks! It was pretty sweet.

We posted a Top 15 DS Games list on the Nerdy Show site today. I did write-ups for 7 of the games on the list, so give it a read if you're interested! My name is listed after each one I did.

I've been playing Portal 2! It's pretty awesome so far. I haven't even started single player yet, though! I need to get to that already. I've also been playing Pokémon White, though not a lot. I only just received the first gym badge today.

I went to my other uncle's house today, and I gave the ever-famous Herbert a visit. Here are a couple photos of us:
Herbert is one massive wolfdog.

Borderlands and JERK CHICKEN

Austin, Tate and I just started playing Borderlands this evening. We just finished up a few minutes ago, in fact. I tried playing this game a very long time ago with Austin, Jed and Cody, but since we were never able to get all of us together with working computers, that didn't go very far. I'm hoping I'll actually be able to beat the game this time around!

Today, I ordered some delicious food from a Caribbean restaurant for lunch. The problem, though, is that they left out like half of my order! It was supposed to be jerk chicken with bread and a Jamaican beef patty. They left out the bread and the patty, so it was just chicken and nothing else! Oh well, at least it was awesome chicken. One other problem is that they didn't give me a fork! We had none around at work, so I ate my meal with a ridiculous little pair of plastic tongs. :P

Tongs!

Catching up, again

I forgot to mention that I got a very generous donation a week ago! Thank you so much, Daniel! I can't express just how grateful I am to you wonderful people out there who do such nice things. Money's been a little stressful for me lately, what with receiving that undeserved speeding ticket and having barely any hours at work. This is a tremendous help.

Another thing I forgot to mention: I went to go see Video Games Live here in Orlando on March 29th. It was an awesome show! For those unfamiliar with it, Video Games Live is a video game-themed orchestral concert, and it features lots of popular game music. I'd been wanting to attend one for years, so I was really excited to finally get the opportunity. After the show, they had a little meet-and-greet with all the main folks in the show, so that was fun. I chit-chatted briefly with each one of them, the most well-known of the bunch being Tommy Tallarico. He's the one who founded Video Games Live, and he plays guitar in the show. He's a video game composer, and he's worked on tons of games. My personal favorite of his work is the Earthworm Jim soundtrack! :> Oh, I should add that the guy who composed the soundtrack for God of War III performed in the show, and he was so smarmy! During the meet and greet, he was flirting with me in a very smarmy manner. :<

I really love having Netflix! My friend let me share his account, and I've been trying to make good use of it! I've been watching an anime series called Mushi-Shi, and it's really good. I'm very picky about anime, so it has to be something special to interest me. The series is quite sad, though, and it seems like each episode tries to outdo the last one in how sad it is!

I beat Monster Tale last night. It was a super fun game, and I really enjoyed it all throughout. The only big issue I had was that the final boss was super easy! Otherwise, though, it was great. I'm in love with the team who made it, and I can't wait to see what they make next! It's especially exciting because they're located in my area, and a good friend of mine may possibly be working on their next game. I'm hoping I can work for them someday, too! It will probably never happen, but a girl can dream. Now that I'm done with Monster Tale, I'm playing Pokemon White.

So I've been thinking about doing a new thing with my blog. I wanna start doing little random prize giveaways! I've built up a fairly large collection of gaming-related odds & ends that I don't really know what to do with, so I think it would be fun to give them away as prizes! These are things like posters, t-shirts, things I've gotten from work, etc etc. I'm not quite sure how the giveaways will be structured yet, but it will probably involve answering a trivia question or something like that. I'll keep working on the details of it, but keep an eye out for that sometime soon!

I see the grand majority of you have never smoked! Alright, now it's time for a new poll. Have at it!

Hmmm? What's this? ;)

Bargain Queen

A few days ago, I got a new monitor from Target. It was originally $160, and I paid $60 for it. HERE'S THE STORY!

Actually, I first purchased the monitor a few weeks ago. It was clearanced down to $112 at that point, but I knew it could possibly drop even lower. I held on to my receipt and kept the monitor sealed up, then I repeatedly went to Target to see if the price had dropped. One day, it had! All the way down to $80. The awesome thing is that I also managed to dig out a $20 Target gift card I forgot I had. I went in, returned the monitor, repurchased it, and used my gift card. Grand total: $60. Heck yeaaaah!

Here's the page for the monitor. It's quite snazzy, and I'm very happy with it!

Bargain shopping is one of my biggest hobbies, and it's somewhat of a game for me to find awesome deals on stuff that I want. I basically have a rule that I refuse to pay full price for most things. I don't think I've bought a $60 video game yet. I think from now on, I'll make a post series here out of whatever big bargains I come across in my daily life. It's such a common thing for me that I'll undoubtedly have lots of bargain updates.

I probably mentioned it when it happened, but the last big bargain I found before this one was my beloved coat I was raving about back in November. It was originally about $500 at Macy's here, and I had this whole ridiculous plan set up to have someone in Spain purchase and mail one to me (since the company that makes it is in Spain, it was a lot cheaper there). However, a miracle happened: It went on clearance at Macy's! In addition to the clearance price, I opened up a Macy's card to get an additional large percentage off of the cost. Grand total: $135! That's still pricey, but considering how amazing it is and that it will probably last me my whole life, I'm very pleased!

I love bargains.

Here's a picture of something I just noticed at the LAN center like two nights ago. It has apparently been there as long as they've been open, and I never noticed it a single time in my year or so of hanging out at this place. I was very sleepy when I spotted him, so I immediately went into a laughing fit for a good 10-15 minutes. My friend had to stand in front of me and block my view of him to make me stop.
Ceiling cat.

New stuff

Let's see, what's been going on in my life... There's one thing I had planned to mention a few weeks ago right after it happened, and I began typing up a long post about it, but it was upsetting for me to talk about. I'll just make a brief mention of it here.

On March 8th, I got my first speeding ticket. Here's the thing, though: I wasn't speeding. The speed limit was 70mph, and I was driving exactly that. Either the cop's radar was incorrect, or he was just crooked. I'm leaning towards option two. I'm pretty sure anyone would be able to tell that I couldn't possibly be speeding, radar or not. He claims I was going 86mph, but the car I was driving isn't even capable of going past 80. I was driving my friend's car (which happens to be a yellow sports car. Never driving one of those again), and I think, based on the appearance of the car, that cop decided he was giving me a ticket no matter what. I was absolutely confused about why I was being pulled over, since I knew I hadn't done anything wrong. I figured it was a brake light that was out or something, but NOPE! Just an evil cop. Since I'm strongly opposed to being pushed around for a crime I didn't commit, I will be going to court to fight this ticket. I don't care if it's a futile effort, I'm still giving it my best shot. Even if I do pay off the ticket and go to traffic school to remove the points from my record, my insurance costs could still go up over this. I want to get the ticket completely removed from my record so that is no longer a concern.

This whole situation has made me feel so violated. I really can't trust cops anymore. They're allowed to do illegal things just because they wear that uniform. I'm not saying that all cops are bad, but there's no way to tell from just a glance whether a cop is good or not. The great thing about all of this is that I was driving my friend's car home as a favor to help her out, since she was too tired. Oh well.

I had a friend visit for a bit over a week, since it was his spring break. We had lots of fun. We didn't really do much exciting stuff, besides a day at Disney exploring the resorts and watching the fireworks (didn't go to any of the parks, just did the free stuff). We just ate at restaurants, played games, went to stores, watched movies and such. Good visit!

A game I've been really excited for just came out last week. It's an awesome DS game called Monster Tale. Here's the cover:
This game was created by the team that made one of my favorite DS games, Henry Hatsworth. I absolutely adore that game, and you should play it if you haven't already! Here's the cover of that one:
It's a brilliant game. It utilizes the two DS screens better than most other games. On the top, it's a platformer, and on the bottom, it's a puzzle game. You switch back and forth between the two, using the puzzle to power you up and such. It's a fairly difficult game, but it's extremely fun, and I adore it. Definitely one of my top 5 DS games.

As for Monster Tale, this one also utilizes the two screens for different things. The top is, once again, a platformer (and the physics feel very similar to Hatsworth, which pleases me), but the bottom screen is used as a sort of pet-raising simulator. You have a monster companion in this game, and he grows and evolves into different forms throughout the game. You can call on him to assist you at any time, and as he loses health or gets too worn out, he must go back to the bottom to recuperate. He also eats items and uses power-ups and such on the bottom screen. I've only played a bit of the game so far, but I'm loving it!

The development team for those games, DreamRift, is actually local to this area. They used to work for EA (hence the EA logo on the Hatsworth cover), but they left after making that game. I'm a big fan of theirs, and a friend of mine even used to do some work with them at EA. He's been trying to help me secure an interview with one of them for Nerdy Show, to talk about their games a bit. I hope I'll be able to do it!

This post is pretty long, so I'll stop here. More stuff soon! Oh yeah, I made a new poll yesterday.

Whoops!

Sorry for the delay in posting again, I've been super duper busy! I spend a ton of time at the LAN center now. I've made a lot of friends there, and it's fun just hanging out and playing whatever. Lately I've been playing a lot of League of Legends! Awesome game. I'm still not that good at it, but I'm slowly learning!

So I guess I haven't posted since I went on my trip. I had a great time, and it was nice to see old friends and family again. I need to take trips more often! While I was there, I bought an awesome Sonic robe on clearance for super cheap, and a Scott Pilgrim doll on clearance as well!

A couple weeks ago, I finally finished playing all the way through Shatter. The amazing thing, though, is that I finished the entire game without using a continue! I never thought I'd be able to get that achievement, but I did somehow. I was playing at the LAN center, and since the computer I was on has a second monitor on the wall that everyone can see, a big group was watching me play. It was awesome. I more than tripled my old high score!

There's another game I've been playing that I finished a few days ago, and that one is Ghost Trick. It's a fantastic game for DS, and if you're a fan of the Phoenix Wright series, I think you'll like this one (and even if you're not, play it anyway!). It's made by the same team, and it has a similar feel to those games in the story and music departments. The gameplay, however, is completely different (and quite unique!). Basically, you play as a ghost, and you have to possess and manipulate inanimate objects in order to save people from dying. There's a lot more to the game than that, but that's what the majority of the core gameplay is like. One other thing to note about the game: BEAUTIFUL ANIMATION! Oh gosh is it amazing. I'm a huge fan of animation, and stuff this impressive really blows me away. It's so smooth! I can only find one example of it online:
Do not view this with Google Chrome. It screws up gifs and makes them slow. Use another browser, it's worth it!

I rewatched the movie Stardust the other day. I hadn't seen it since it was in theaters, and I had forgotten what a great movie it is! If you've never seen it, I definitely recommend it. Here's a trailer:

The movie apparently did really poorly at the box office, due to bad marketing. It needs more love.

I think I had more to say, but I'm too tired to remember right now. I'll do another post soon. Also, big announcement is almost ready! Prepare for it! Oh yeah, I guess I need a new poll. I'll do that tomorrow.

Down South

I took a trip down to my home town to visit friends and family for the next few days. I just hit the road this evening, and arrived not long ago. The trip was a pretty spur of the moment idea. Since I had three days off in a row this week, I decided to just take a trip! Now, it turns out I have Monday off as well, so I'm actually taking FOUR days off in a row! I'm hoping to have a nice visit.

It felt really weird traveling without Puckie. :(

And now for a photo of our super creepy Mario mascot costume we have at work.

Poll poll poll

My last poll's results are pretty interesting to me. So Sonic came in third! Poor Sonic, overshadowed by his friends. Knuckles won the poll, which I'm not surprised about. He is a pretty rad echidna dude. Keep in mind that I am only a fan of classic Sonic, and I don't like any of the newer games. I like Sonic the best, but Knuckles is a close second! I even made a Knuckles costume when I was younger, which I'm sure a lot of you have seen already. Here it is, for the ones who haven't:

I'm 16 here. This costume has been in storage for years, I should take it out one of these days!

Alright, new poll time!

Monkey face

Last couple days have been busy for me! On Sunday evening, I went to my friend's house for a Chinese New Year party. The only thing is, by the time we got there, the party was mostly over! The food had all been eaten and everything, so....we ended up making Thai food instead, hehe. I ended up sleeping over since his house is pretty far away.

The next day, I spent the entire day at the LAN center. I was sitting behind the counter, so it felt like I was working there, hehe. I'll probably be working there soon. It was a fun day! Mainly just chit-chatted and watched funny videos with my friends, and I played a few games as well.

I just ordered some RAM for my PC build. Newegg has a pretty nice deal right now, $15 off the RAM I had picked out. I'm glad I finally ordered another component for my future PC. I've just been patiently waiting for the parts to go on sale and such. Trying to save as much money as possible. Here's the deal, if anyone is interested:

And now for a photo of my dad and I from when I was 8. I used to be a blonde.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAI

The birthday skink is a year old today! I can't believe an entire year flew by that quickly!

He sure loved that cake. He's friggin' fat now.

I hope to celebrate many more Kai birthdays!

Birthday skink

Kai's first birthday is tomorrow. I have a little something planned for it. :D I'll post it here tomorrow.

We recorded another Nerdy Show minisode tonight. I spoke a fair amount, so, yay. Hopefully I can keep it up. I'll link to that episode when it's uploaded.

I've been playing the original Metal Gear Solid on PS1. I'm ashamed to say that I've never played the series before. Okay, I'm not actually ashamed, but I'll pretend to be for the sake of this blog. I've been meaning to get into the series pretty much since MGS1 came out, but I just never did. Now I'm trying to finally change that. I have MGS1-4, as well as the GBC game. I shall play through all of them soon!

I guess I'll start using Twitter now. I just embedded a little Twitter thingie to the right.

Mmmm, freezer pop.

I love Firefly

So I just finished watching the series 'Firefly' over the weekend. I had watched about half of the series a few months ago, then got sidetracked and didn't finish it until just this weekend. What an amazing show. I'll never forgive Fox for cancelling it so early in its run. At least it got a finale in the movie 'Serenity', though. I just watched that last night. I had originally watched it when it was out in theaters, but I always regretted seeing it without watching the series first. Now that I've actually seen the show, the movie was much, much more enjoyable. If you haven't seen Firefly, WATCH IT! It's only 14 episodes, and it's fantastic.

I went to Disney again today. Was a pretty enjoyable visit. I started the day at Animal Kingdom, and I saw Festival of the Lion King for the first time, which was really cool. After that, I rode Dinosaur. Oh Dinosaur....let me tell you about that ride.

I was cruising along, having a good time on the ride, when suddenly, it stopped. All the lights came on, and we just sat in the car for a while. No one else in my vehicle spoke english, and I was bored, so I pulled my lunch out and ate it on the ride. It finally started back up, but....nope, broke down again a few seconds later. We sat for a while again, and then some of the ride workers finally arrived to walk us out of the ride. They apparently had a rolling platform of stairs with them to get everyone down from the ride, but I didn't realize they had that, and I just hopped down from the side closest to me. When I walked around the car to them and they spotted me, their eyes practically bugged out of their head. "No no, you were supposed to get down on this side! Very dangerous!" Heheh...oops. So anyway, they escorted us out, and it was interesting seeing the ride all lit up. I was disappointed that I didn't actually get to finish the ride though. They did give us fast passes to get back on the ride quickly at a later time, but I figured I wouldn't have time to use it. However.. more on that later.

I got a couple of quick photos with my cell phone cam while we were walking through. I sure wish I had brought my little camcorder today, so I could have recorded this whole ridiculous experience. Here are the photos, forgive the bad quality (like I said, cell phone cam):

After the Dinosaur fiasco, I was waiting to see the Finding Nemo musical that was going to be starting soon, so I passed the time by going on a kiddie ride that's basically a clone of the Dumbo ride, except with triceratopses. Then I headed over to Nemo and got a seat. Man, I love that show. In my opinion, it's way way more enjoyable than the movie itself (which I'm not even that much a fan of). The way they do the puppets and all that is so friggin' cool. I've only seen the show twice so far, but I pretty much have to see it whenever I go to Animal Kingdom now. There's one song from the show in particular that gets stuck in my head like crazy. The first time I saw it, it was literally in my head for over a month afterwards. This is it (tried my best to find one with a good singer and good audio quality):

After Finding Nemo, I attempted to ride Dinosaur again. See, the thing is, it was about 5:30 at the time, and the park had closed at 5:00 to everyone except the people staying at Disney resorts. I tried getting in line, and the woman asked for my resort key pass, and I was like "Uhh...." but then I mentioned that I had been on it when it broke down and was hoping to ride it in its entirety. They asked me for my fast pass from earlier. Success! They let me on. Disney really aims to please their guests.

I left Animal Kingdom after that, and headed to Magic Kingdom. Rode Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and oh yeah.... Country Bears Jamboree. UGH! WHAT WAS I THINKING?! I had never seen it before, and I heard it wasn't good, so I wanted to experience it for myself. BIG MISTAKE! I was desperately wanting to get out long before it was over. Ugh. Never again. The kids must HATE that show!

After that, got a delicious hot dog, then watched Disney's closing shows. The fireworks were awesome as usual, and now they do this new really cool thing before the fireworks where they project things onto the castle. It's hard to describe and make it sound cool, but it's quite awesome.

Man, I can't believe how quickly I got out of the park and back to my car. I parked at one of the resorts, so I don't have to pay for parking, and I got back there ridiculously fast from the monorail. I'm never paying for Disney parking again.

Fun day!

I love Michel Gondry

I went to go see Green Hornet yesterday. I know the movie's been getting hate from some people (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, AUSTIN), but I enjoyed it. I mean, yeah yeah, Seth Rogen is unlikeable, but that's how his character is supposed to be in this movie. Since it's by my absolute favorite director, Michel Gondry, I just had to see it! It's quite different from the rest of his movies, but there are some parts in it that are definitely his style.

If you're not familiar with his name (and you most likely aren't), his most popular movie is 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' (one of my favorites). He also directed 'The Science of Sleep' and 'Be Kind Rewind', which are also great movies. He has directed tons of music videos as well, and the majority of them are very, very cool. Here are a couple of his most famous ones:

Michel Gondry is a creative genius, and I'll watch pretty much anything he makes.

After the movie, I went to work, then I went to the LAN center and played some L4D2 vs with my posse. My teams lost two out of the three games, but I don't really give a crap, it was still fun. :D

Today, I worked, then I made some DELICIOUS scallops for dinner. Oh my gosh. They were amazing. LOOK AT THEM.
Scallops and couscous. The photo doesn't do them justice, but they were fantastic.

Soooo.... I might be going to E3! I'm not 100% sure about it yet, but there's a good chance of it happening. I'm quite excited!

Oh, new poll is up. I couldn't really think of anything else, so have fun with that one. I only included the Sonic characters I actually like, since I'm not a fan of any of the newer crap.

Been so busy

Hi, friends. I'm so sorry for the lack of posts lately! I'll try not to go this long without an update again. I've been really busy, and I kept putting off updating on everything I've been up to. I don't even remember a lot of it now, and I don't want to write another friggin' essay in here like I have before (especially since no one reads long posts), so I'll just summarize things.

Went to the LAN center with my mom and Kai on New Year's eve. Kinda weird, I know, but we had fun! We mainly just sat and talked to people there. My mom left a few days after that, and I was finally able to start getting my stuff unpacked at my new place. My room looks pretty nice now.

I went to Disney with some friends a couple weeks ago. We went to Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, and Epcot. We had tons of fun! Here are a couple of photos:

Stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch! That Stitch gave me a kiss.

Disney's greatest attraction.

I'm sure you can tell if you ever take a look at my Steam profile, but I've been addicted to the game Shatter! It's an Arkanoid-based game, and it's super fun. I've already put in a bunch of hours, and I haven't even beaten it yet! I just keep going back and improving my scores. The music is AMAZING, and I love it so much that I purchased the soundtrack.

Intel just released some new processors, so I'm super excited about that. One of them is way better than the processor I originally planned to buy, and it's nearly the same price! I'm so glad I waited on buying my stuff. I'll probably start ordering the rest of my PC parts very soon.

This past weekend, there was an interesting convention in this area called Otronicon. It's a pretty unusual convention, and the theme of it is basically video games and technology. It took place at the local science center, which I love going to. It went from Friday to Monday, and since my store was doing a lot for the convention, I got to attend every day for free. I wore a name tag as if I was one of the workers, but I actually just hung out with friends the entire time, hehe (and helped at their table a little bit). Here are some photos from Otronicon:

That's the area I hung out in the entire time.
ALLIGATORS!!! Oh, and turtles. Pretty weird photo for a convention, but it did take place at the science center, after all. :P

These next photos are from a retro arcade they had there. It was so amazing! They were all super old games, and all of them were in free-play mode. I played all the way through the original TMNT with a couple of people. There aren't many people in my photos, but on the following days, this place was PACKED.

And here we are playing TMNT....wait, what's wrong with my face?!

The first night of the convention, my store put on Zombie Night. We had some zombie makeup artists there, so I of course took advantage of that!
I've never looked better!

I went to go see Black Swan yesterday. What a movie! It was very intense, but I quite enjoyed it.

A website today is selling $20 Amazon gift cards for only $10. It's a pretty sweet deal! I grabbed one (since you're only allowed to buy one, booooo). You can get it here, if you're interested: http://livingsocial.com/deals/21336?ref=personalized-link-box-4328479&rpi=4328479

Well, that's mostly everything. I know it seems like another super long entry, but it's mostly photos! I do hope you read it. Oh, just a little teaser, we have something special in the works for Kilplix N Friends. Keep on the lookout for an announcement soon! :)
